GMU Persian Club is a not-for-profit, non-partisan organization that aims to disseminate knowledge of Iranian culture through events targeted at the local community.
The Persian Club is a non-religious, non-political organization. The purpose of this organization is to bring the students and the Persian community of George Mason University together. We would like everyone to be involved, so that commitment and dedication to each other and the club are encouraged.

History
Established in 1986 by a small group of George Mason University student, the GMU Persian Club was an effort to bring the growing Iranian community of George Mason University together around the common values of Persian Arts and cultural history. The club has grown substantially in size and scope since its inception. Today the club, with a base of over 50 active student members, offers events such as the Annual Norouz Show (the biggest student show in campus by 2,000 audiences for the last 7 years) and other cultural events each targeting various groups within the local and student community. The clubs alumni include leaders of the Iranian-American community such as Anousheh Ansari, First Female Private Space Explorer & First Space Ambassador
